With a spectacular show of music, dance,flags, and youthful energy, WorldSkillsLyon 2024, the world's largest skillscompetition, officially opened onSeptember 10 at 7 pm local time.
During the opening ceremony,participants from across the globeparaded with their national flags,radiating the vibrant spirit of youngtalent. The Chinese delegation, inparticular, captivated the audience as theymarched with high energy, waving flagsand interacting with the crowd, whoresponded with cheers and applause.
Max Roche, President of WorldSkillsLyon 2024, emphasized in his speech,"This competition is all about sharing—sharing skills, sharing knowledge, sharinghappiness, and sharing success. We wantto welcome everyone, no matter wherethey come from."
Starting on September 11, 68competitors from Team China willcompete alongside 1,400 peers from 68other countries and regions in all 59 skillsover four intense days of competition.The competitions span six majorcategories: Transportation and Logistics,Construction and Building Technology,Manufacturing and EngineeringTechnology, Information andCommunication Technology, CreativeArts and Fashion, and Social andPersonal Services. With an average age ofcompetitors at 22, China is taking part inthe WorldSkills Competition for theseventh time, with its largest-everdelegation in terms of both competitorsand skill categories.
