Since its inaugural run on August 28th,2016, China-Europe Railway Express(CR Express) in Guangzhou has seen aremarkable increase in service frequency,with a more diverse array of goodstransported and an expanding servicenetwork. Over the past eight years,Guangzhou Customs has overseen a totalof 1,650 trains for import and export onthis route, dispatching 156,000 standardcontainers and declaring a total importand export value exceeding 43 billionRMB. The railway service connects over40 cities across more than 20 countries,including Western Europe, EasternEurope, Western Asia, Central Asia, andSoutheast Asia, establishing a "goldenbridge" for enhanced connectivity andmutual benefit across the Eurasiancontinent.
Throughout these eight years, the routesof the CR Express under the supervisionof Guangzhou Customs, have continuallyexpanded, with the number of tripsincreasing year by year. What began as asingle export route eight years ago hasnow expanded into a comprehensivenetwork of 22 routes, comprising 15outbound and 7 inbound. In 2024,Guangzhou Customs support Guangdongin launching its first full train under the"railway fast customs clearance" model,introducing a new route with a completeschedule from "Guangzhou InternationalPort to Warsaw." In terms of the numberof trips, the annual count of CR Expresstrains monitored by Guangzhou Customsrose from 13 in 2016 to 626 in 2023,marking an average annual growth rate ofover 70%, reflecting a significantacceleration in operations.

Building on the increasing number oftrips, the range of goods transported bythe CR Express in Guangzhou has alsodiversified. During its initial phase in2016, the main export goods wereclothing, footwear, kitchenware, andhardware accessories. In recent years, thestructure of exports has been optimallydiversified, covering over 100 categoriesranging from automobiles to homeappliances. In the first eight months of2024 alone, Guangzhou Customs hassupervised the operation of 133 "premiumtrains," benefiting numerous renownedmanufacturing enterprises in theGuangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GreaterBay Area, such as Midea,CHANGHONG, and Skyworth, withgoods spanning over 20 categories,including LCD televisions and airconditioners.The railway serves not only to exportgoods but also to facilitate imports. InMay 2020, the first "Guangzhou-Manchuria-Russia" import train returnedthrough the Manchuria Port, bringing avariety of European goods to the DalanInternational Logistics Container Yard inGuangzhou. Currently, the import routesfor the CR Express in Guangzhou coverfive major northern railway ports,including Manchuria, Erlianhot, AlatawShankou, Horgos, and Suifenhe, ensuringfaster delivery of high-quality foreignconsumer goods to domestic consumers.
At present, the cross-border trade routesmonitored by Guangzhou Customs haveestablished a spatial layout characterizedby"multi-directional connectivity acrossland and sea," providing efficient, secure,and reliable international logisticschannels for over 4,000 foreign tradeenterprises.
